The noted Faculty of Literature commenced its academic activities in two majors of English Translation and Secretarial Studies upon the foundation of Alzahra University in 1964, previously named the Higher Educational School for Girls. Three years later and upon the completion of its new building, the Faculty of Foreign Languages was founded. Today, with about 50 years of experience, the faculty of Literature has developed into an academic-cultural center with vast interactions in the global scale. It is also among one of the bests in the country. With 58 academic staff members, the faculty offers academic programs at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels to nearly 1000 students.
Faculty of Literature has long strived for educating cultivated and pious women and girls who are committed to Islamic principles and attempt for propagating their own history, Persian language and literature as well as achieving expertise in language sciences.
Considering human resources as our main asset, we truly believe in educating elite women, honorable mothers, and good wives who could fulfill the needs of Islamic-Iranian society. To that end, we try out best to benefit from modern facilities to offer educational, research, technological and counseling services to academic societies, higher education applicants, and social and cultural organizations at national, regional, and international levels.
